The Role
London Payroll Systems Limited is seeking an ambitious and proactive Business Development Manager to drive business growth and expand the company’s client portfolio. The successful candidate will play a key role in identifying new opportunities, building relationships with potential clients, and promoting the company’s payroll and business support services.
Duties
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities among recruitment agencies, accounting firms, and SMEs requiring outsourced payroll services.
- Develop and implement business development strategies to increase the company’s market share.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with prospective and existing clients to encourage long-term partnerships.
- Promote the company’s payroll and business support services to potential clients through presentations, meetings, and networking.
- Establish and strengthen referral partnerships with recruitment agencies, accountants, and professional service providers.
- Generate and manage a consistent pipeline of sales leads and convert them into long-term clients.
- Conduct market research to identify industry trends, client needs, and competitor activities.
- Prepare and deliver proposals, quotations, and service agreements to prospective clients.
- Negotiate contracts and service terms with clients in line with company policies.
- Work closely with internal payroll and operations teams to ensure smooth onboarding of new clients.
- Support the development and promotion of the company’s brand through marketing initiatives and industry events.
- Monitor client satisfaction and identify opportunities to upsell or cross-sell additional services.
- Maintain accurate records of client interactions, sales activities, and business opportunities.
- Assist in developing strategic partnerships that can expand the company’s referral network.
- Ensure that services promoted to clients align with regulatory requirements, including those set by HM Revenue and Customs.
Skills and Requirements
- A bachelor’s degree in a relevant field such as Business Administration, Marketing, Finance, or a related discipline.
- Proven experience in business development, sales, or account management, preferably within payroll, recruitment, financial services, or business support services.
- Strong knowledge of outsourced payroll services and an understanding of UK tax and employment compliance requirements, including those administered by HM Revenue and Customs.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills to develop and maintain client and partnership networks.
- Ability to identify new business opportunities, generate leads, and convert prospects into long-term clients.
- Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills to assess market trends, client needs, and competitive positioning.
- Proficiency in customer relationship management (CRM) systems and standard business software such as Microsoft Excel and Microsoft PowerPoint.
